Meet the team

Karen Angela Gunio

Karen has been part of the BSI team for about nine years. She began her career prior to BSI as a java programmer and focused on developing web based applications.

Karen held a senior role in data processing in 2009 and processed major local client data with the coordination of account coordinators, production staff and programmers for daily production of scheduled jobs. Karen later switched to application development. She has extensive experience in object oriented programming; including systematic, logical and analytical thinking, in addition to designing, planning, coding and testing software applications that comply with the client user requirements.

We’re glad Karen transitioned into the multimedia development environment. She joined the BSI eLearning team and has become an integral senior member of the multimedia team and is known for her dependable nature and working with our custom eLearning frameworks.

What excites you most about working with BSI eLearning?
Being in an organisation that continuously giving me support to not only to work with what I love the most but giving me opportunities to enhance my skills and explore different areas that helps me grow as a multimedia developer.

What are you known for in your job? What personality trait is your signature?
I am the guru of both Flash based and HTML5 based frameworks.

Hendri Soerianto

Hendri has been involved in multimedia development for over 15 years and has honed his skills in eLearning development for several of those years. He joined the BSI team in mid-2016. His ability to navigate both custom and third-party eLearning tools, knack for web development, and his flair for building interactive eLearning are all skills we utilise daily. Hendri works hard to get the job done and has consistently had positive feedback for his great work with our clients.

Hendri supports the wider team, including our Instructional Designers, to realise the visions and creativity inherent in our eLearning.

Working with like-minded people to push design and technological boundaries.

Tara Walsh

Tara is an all-around superstar. Having joined our ranks in 2014, she is one of two Senior Learning Consultants, and the ID Team Manager. Never one to shy away from questions, Tara is known for her systematic and thorough approach, leaving no stone unturned to ensure her clients get the best outcomes. As cool as a cucumber with a taste in alternative music to match, Tara will often plug in to tunes and plug away at her work – showing a degree of speed and accuracy that is uncanny, and a level of focus that is enviable to all of us.

Leading many of our large programs of work, Tara has a close watch on quality and consistency, ensuring the team and our projects come together perfectly every time. On the weekends she turns her attention away from hunting down spelling and grammar issues to her family, and can be found camping, riding and generally getting out and about.

Working with a great team, sharing ideas, and learning from each other.

Attention to detail. Grammatical errors beware – I will hunt you down.

Giulia Johnson

Giulia is our Senior Instructional Designer with over 15 years’ experience in Learning and Development. Having worked with us many years ago, she returned to the fold in 2018. An all rounder with experience in instructional design, facilitation and L&D consultancy, across various industries, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Organised and methodical in her approach, Giulia asks lots of questions and digs deep to understand our clients’ needs and expectation. She spares no effort in delivering quality outcomes for our clients.

A self-professed holiday junkie, in her spare time, Giulia can be found researching and planning her next great escape - whether it’s an epic overseas adventure, or a relaxing weekend away.

Working with, and continually learning from, such a talented, creative, passionate group of individuals.

I’m always asking questions…enquiring minds need to know!

Kavita Chaturvedi

Kavita is BSI’s Project Manager and is responsible for the scheduling, management and effective delivery of our projects. She uses her no-nonsense approach to help both our clients and our team to meet their obligations, and to ensure timely and on-budget! Calm in the face of many priorities, Kavita doesn’t mind a tough conversation or two (infused with her own brand of devious humour, of course!) to get the job done.

Chun-Lam Samuel Lo

Sam is a technical guru, coder and all around Architect of our customised systems, eLearning frameworks and Learning management solutions. With over 12 years tenure under his belt, he is known for his can-do attitude, and we have yet to dream up a solution he can’t bring to life! In fact Sam wasn’t happy with a lot of the LMS offerings on the market, so he created one himself called the WebHub!

Leading our technology team, Sam ensures we build, test and deploy our solutions in your technology environment, from scoping to the various iterations and beta versions to finished product. An intuitive, versatile and knowledgeable all-rounder, Sam leads by example, is disciplined and a great promoter of efficient and effective team work.

What excites you most about working with BSI eLearning?
The thing that excites me most about working at BSI eLearning is being able to work with an amazing bunch of people to develop amazing new technologies and products.

I am known for solving complex problems and coming up with innovative solutions to problems. My signature trait is getting it done.

Jesse Kingsley

Jesse is our heavy metal loving, bike riding, Creative Director and is well versed in our business with over 13 years working with us and several years prior in the State Education sector. Detail oriented and constructive in approach, he is the go-to man to ensure our plans and ideas are practical and workable. The heart of the team, Jesse ensures our eLearning engages learners and uses creative approaches to achieve its outcomes.

Jesse is known for placing the needs of the team above his own, and is a communicative and decisive leader that keeps our business moving forward through thick and thin.

Jesse’s love and dedication to cycling is commendable; his love of high-end lycra: less so.

What excites you most about working with BSI eLearning?
Being able to work on projects that are continually throwing up new subject matter and new challenges is a great part of the role here at BSI. In particular it is the access to working with and creating multiple forms of media such as writing, graphic design, illustration, animation, video, audio and combinations of all of them.

What are you known for in your job? What personality trait is your signature?
You know you’re in my job when you have to be involved on every project known to the business at some time during any given period of time. It doesn’t help when you’re also the longest serving member of staff and have a memory of projects dating back that far either!

Simon Dewar

Simon is our General Manager and resident Learning and Development expert and is regularly found consulting with our clients to assist them to develop their learning strategies. With a strong belief that good learning is like good whisky (although it should be quicker to produce) Simon believes in taking the time to understand needs and motivations, and bringing creativity to the table to get learners interested.

Leading the capability and consulting team, as well as performing the role of General Manager, he is often found getting excited about new possibilities and managing relationships with our key accounts to secure our latest projects. A leader and brand ambassador, he is a strong communicator with an uncompromising sense of style. Simon has been a part of the BSI team since 2012.

What excites you most about working with BSI eLearning?
It’s a diverse team all with really different and complementary skills. We work well together and have a huge breadth of really interesting projects and can really help our customers develop some really innovative learning approaches

What are you known for in your job? What personality trait is your signature?
As the consultant, constantly with clients helping them to develop their learning strategies and chasing the next big project. Personality wise probably being excitable and passionate about what we do and looking to create new approaches
